League Spotlight: Bad/funny draft memories

I was once in a redraft league with a guy playing fantasy football for the first time. He was knowledgeable about football itself and, to his credit, came to the draft with a magazine.

His first-round pick was fine. In the second round, he drafted a defense…!?!?!?! When asked with shock by everyone else what the hell he was doing (we even offered to allow him to make a new pick instead), he said, “My number one quarterback was gone. My number one running back was gone. My number one wide receiver was gone. And my number one tight end was gone. So, I took one of two number ones left at any position.”

Sure enough, following that logic, he took his number one kicker in round three.

He just missed the playoffs that season, too… :)
